Jaye Neutron

Jaye Neutron was making voice tags before there was an industry to make them for. The Georgia-based producer started on beats in 2005 and moved into tags in 2007, back when a producer drop was something you asked a friend to record rather than something you commissioned. He went on to found Voice Tag Gods, and the nickname that followed him — the Voice Tag Legend — is mostly a matter of arithmetic.His voice sits on work for Murda Beatz, Sonny Digital, TM88, 808 Mafia and YoungKio, which puts him inside a stretch of records that defined how modern trap sounds when it introduces itself. That catalogue is the reason he hears a tag differently to most vocalists: not as a voice-over, but as the first two seconds of a beat, competing with an 808 for the listener's attention.Alongside recording he builds sound kits and produces, and still takes tag work himself rather than only running the roster.
